Skateboard Manufacturing – Maple Skateboards

We buy our wood from Canada. Here are some pictures of the company we buy our thin sheets of wood from. They take the logs and spin it on a big lathe to cut the thin sheets of wood. The only skateboard you want is a skateboard made out of maple Maple is a special hardwood that has just the right properties to ensure optimal skating. Some skateboard manufacturers will use birch or they will slip ply’s of birch in between the maple to keep costs down. This practice tends to be rare, mostly done over seas. Any substitute besides maple lowers a skateboards performance.
